Sorry it has been a while. Today I would like to share with you another testimony. This one happened when my best friend, my son and I were homeless in Miami.
It was a beautiful, hot day and we planned on going down to the park. We headed to the store first to get some soda. We were walking down the sidewalk and a man was standing by his bike, looking for something in his pocket. He was homeless, as well.
As we started to pass him, he asked my best friend if he had fifty cents. My friend said "No, sorry." and kept walking. Just then, something came over me. I tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Wait! This could be our chance to do some service work. I'm going to give him some change." So my friend waited with my son, as I walked over to the man.
As I approached him, he was trying to search his pockets again. I pulled out the change that I had and gave it to him. He was so thankful! He wanted to get a small soda to drink and also needed another two quarters for the metro rail. Well, now he had more than enough. It made me feel good to help someone else. He was so happy and thanked me about six times.
As I was watching him walk up the stairs and open the door to Burger King, (he was getting a soda) my son came running up to me. I turned to face him when he yelled for me. I looked at his hand and he was showing me the twenty dollar bill that he had in his hand. He said, "Mom! That man in the purple shirt just gave this to me!" I looked at the man, who was way ahead of us now and then returned my look to the twenty. I closed my eyes and smiled saying only three words... "Thank you, Lord."
It is amazing how God blesses you for doing something nice for others in need. We needed all the money we had left to survive, but something told me to give to the man. I am so thankful that I was able to do that and for the man who gave my son a twenty dollar bill. We were able to stretch that money out to last another 3 days!
Of course after that, things started to look up for us. My best friend got a job and we were able to save enough to get out of that situation. Thank you, Lord for the trials and for the blessings!
It was an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. Just remember, when you give, you truly receive! Hope you enjoyed this testimony and you all have a wonderful day.
Take care and God Bless,
